About this Project

Eternal Build undertook these works as an internal project, on behalf the companies development branch (Eternal Living Ltd)

The works involved the redevelopment of the Old Barclays Bank (previously redundant), a single storey building with a basement and vault located on the High Street in Hawkhurst town centre.

The design allowed the client to retain a good amount of the existing building structure whilst adapting and extending it to suit a residential use and create Three 1 bedroom and one 2 bedroom affordable residential units across the ground and first floor.

The works involved removing the existing roof, building up to provide a new first floor and pitched roof, whilst completing internal re-configuration to allow the 4 flats to be accommodated.

Careful consideration was taken to incorporate a palette of materials appropriate and sympathetic to the surrounding area and local properties generally, such as the white weatherboard cladding and timber windows.

Eternal Build completed the full scope of works as Principal Contractor, completing every element from demolition through to decorations and fit out at the end.
